Keeping Pain At The Pump To A Minimum In Dormont-Brookline
Pittsburgh-area gas prices are still much higher than the national average. Patch tells you where to get the best deals.

DORMONT, PA - As Americans begin to look towards Memorial Day weekend and the kick-off to the summer driving season, gasoline prices continue to decline nationally. But the price at the pump continues to be higher than average in Pittsburgh and across Pennsylvania.
The national average declined 4.2 cents last week to $2.34 per gallon of regular unleaded, according to online price-tracker GasBuddy. The average price per gallon is considerably more expensive in Pennsylvania at $2.59 and in Pittsburgh at $2.70.
The downward trend nationally can be traced largely to recent plunge in crude oil prices as concern over weak demand and high supply has offset sentiment about last November’s OPEC production cuts. That’s according to Patrick DeHaan, a GasBuddy senior petroleum analyst.
