Popular Pittsburgh Diner Going Out Of Business
After decades in business, this diner is in its last days.
DORMONT, PA - One of the Pittsburgh's area most popular diners is closing its doors. Tom's Diner soon will serve its last meal as owner Tom Petropoulus and his wife have sold the West Liberty Avenue building they purchased in 1986.
While the news might sadden the many regulars who have patronized the place over the years, the space won't be vacant for long. Mike & Tony's Gyros, a local chain with locations Downtown and in the South Side, Bridgeville and Moon, will add a fifth location there.
Tom's Diner is expected to close in the next several weeks. It's not known how soon the new Mike & Tony's will be open.
