Ranking Dormont-Brookline Area's Best Fish Fries

Thank cod for the church fish fry.

With just two weeks until Easter weekend, time is rapidly running out on the annual Lenten fish fry season. Some people have their favorite churches to patronize, but others like to sample from different houses of worship.

With that thought in mind, we turned to Yelp for an unscientific rankings of the best fish fry locales in or close to the Dormont-Brookline area. Here’s what we found:

1. St. Bernard’s Church
401 Washington Road, Mt. Lebanon

Offered one reviewer: "The fish is not mushy, battered in a nice beer batter, and is very big. They also have a shrimp combo, a plate of fries, pizza, mac and cheese, slaw and a side salad."

2. Epiphany Church
184 Washington Place, Downtown

3. First Presbyterian Church of Pittsburgh
320 Sixth Avenue, Downtown

4. .Holy Angels Parish House

5. St. Regis Parish
3235 Parkview Ave., Oakland
