9 Bucks Co. Communities Where You'll Pay The Most To Live

BUCKS COUNTY, PA — As we enter the spring real estate market, you may be considering a home purchase in Bucks County. Perhaps you are a first-time home buyer, or a buyer looking to upgrade from an existing home.

Keep in mind there are nine Bucks County communities where you'll pay top dollar for real estate, according to an analysis by Philadelphia Magazine. They are among the 50 most expensive communities to purchase a home in Philadelphia and its suburbs. Three communities in Bucks County are among the top 10.

Upper Makefield is the most expensive spot in Bucks County to reside, and the second most expensive in the entire region. The average purchase price there in 2018 was $940,886 — up 15 percent from the year before.

The only place in the Philadelphia region where it's more expensive than Upper Makefield to buy a home is Villanova, where last year's average purchase price was $1,125,280.

Next up in Bucks County is New Hope Borough, where last year's average sale price was $766,610. New Hope Borough was fifth on the list. Also making the top 10 was Solebury Township, where last year's average price was $711,859.

Other Bucks County communities included in the top 50 are: Newtown Borough, Wrightstown, Buckingham, Doylestown Borough, Tinicum, and Lower Makefield.
