Traffic Stop Leads To Drug Charges: Warrington Crime Report

Police also cited a Bensalem woman for stealing alcohol and a Philadelphia man for taking body wash at township stores.

WARRINGTON TOWNSHIP, PA ? The Warrington Township Police Department reported the following incidents and arrests in the township:

DRUG ARREST - A 61-year-old New Jersey man is facing drug possession charges after a traffic stop in late October yielded numerous narcotics and drug paraphernalia inside his car. An officer conducted the stop on Easton Road after he observed the driver committing multiple traffic violations. The officer stopped the vehicle and identified the driver who presented a Mercer County Area Community ID card. While speaking with the driver and his passenger, officers noted several inconsistencies in their statements. A subsequent search of the vehicle resulted in the discovery of numerous narcotics and drug paraphernalia. The driver was taken into custody and transported to the police station, where he was processed and later released.

RETAIL THEFT - A 59-year-old man from Philadelphia was cited for retail theft following an incident at the Walmart store. The store's loss prevention officer told police that the man concealed two Dove Body Wash containers and a men?s sport jersey before exiting the store without paying. The total value of the stolen merchandise was $63.46.

RETAIL THEFT - A 44-year-old woman from Bensalem is facing retail theft charges after police said she stole numerous bottles of Over the Rocks Lemon Drop at the Wine & Spirits Store on Easton Road. The staff at the store told police that while they were performing inventory, they noticed numerous bottles of Over the Rocks Lemon Drop were missing. Staff reviewed surveillance and noticed a female enter the store on nine occasions and grab one bottle of Over the Rocks and conceal it in her purse. Police said the woman would pay for one bottle and leave the store while failing to pay for the concealed bottle. The total amount stolen was $116.91.
