$1.2M Water Main Replacement Project Underway In Haverford
Aqua PA is undertaking water main replacement projects across Delco, Haverford included, which are expected to be done in June 2021.
HAVERFORD TOWNSHIP, PA — A $1 million-plus water main replacement in Haverford Township, which part of more than $10 million worth of water infrastructure projects that are underway in six Delaware County municipalities, according to Aqua Pennsylvania.
Aqua is undertaking $10.2 million in infrastructure improvement projects in Upper Providence, Nether Providence, Middletown, Marple and Haverford townships and Rose Valley Borough to improve service reliability for customers throughout the county.
In Haverford Township, crews are working on a $1.2 million project to replace 5,315 feet of aging 6-inch cast iron water mains with new 8- and 6-inch ductile iron water mains.

Work is being done on the following streets:
- Meadow Lane between Coopertown Road and College Avenue;
- Williams Road between Darby Road and Meadows Lane;
- and Blackburn Lane between Highland Lane and Williams Road.
The Haverford work, as well as the other projects in the county, are expected to be completed by June 2021.

These projects are part of Aqua’s continuing infrastructure improvement program that replaced more than 38 miles of aging main in Delaware County in 2019 to improve service reliability for customers.
Aqua expects to have replaced approximately 45 miles of main in Delaware County by year-end. The new water mains will reduce the potential for main breaks and discolored water and improve water flow in the area.
