All Delco Coronavirus Metrics Staying Low, Some Slightly Increase

While some of the six key metrics measured by the state have gone up, the numbers remain very low.

DELAWARE COUNTY, PA — State data on the coronavirus in Delaware County shows vaccination efforts have significantly diminished the virus's impact in the area.

According to the Pennsylvania Department of Health's early coronavirus warning dashboard, two of the six metrics have gone up and the four others have gone down over the past week.

However, all those numbers still remain very low.

The two areas measured that saw increases were the testing positivity rate and coronavirus patients on ventilators.

Positive testing increased from 0.8 percent to 1.1 percent.

Ventilator use increased from 0 to 0.3.

The remaining metrics all went down.

Newly reported cases went from 44 to 43.

The incidence rate per 100,000 people went down from 7.8 to 7.6.

Coronavirus specific hospitalizations dropped from 11.3 to 9.6.

And lastly, the number of people who have coronavirus-like illnesses at Delaware County hospitals went down from 1 percent to 0.8 percent.
