4,400 Feet Of Water Mains Being Replaced In Haverford

The $1.5 million water main replacement project is one of several ongoing in Delaware County totaling $6.9 million to improve water service.

HAVERFORD TOWNSHIP, PA — A $1.5 million water main replacement project is underway in Haverford Township, according to Aqua Pennsylvania.

Crews are working to replace 4,385 feet of 12-, 8-, and 6-inch cast iron water mains on four streets in Haverford.

The new pipes are the being installed on the following roads:

  • Wynnewood Road between County Line Road and Haverford Road;
  • Avon Road between Wynnewood Road and Wickam Road;
  • Wickam Road between Avon Road and Olcott Avenue;
  • and Olcott Avenue between Wickam Road and Haverford Road.

Aqua Pennsylvania said the project is expected to be completed by December this year.

The work is part of $6.9 million in Aqua Pennsylvania infrastructure improvement projects underway to improve service reliability for customers throughout Delaware County.

This year, Aqua expects to replace approximately 45 miles of water main in Delaware County.

The new water mains will reduce the potential for main breaks and discolored water and improve water flow in the area.
