All Coronavirus Metrics Down In Delaware County

DELAWARE COUNTY, PA — Delaware County's fight against the coronavirus is showing its effectiveness by way of the six coronavirus metrics measured by the state.
According to the Pennsylvania Department of Health, newly reported cases, the incidence rate per 100,000 people, the positivity rate, average daily coronavirus hospitalizations, ventilator use, and people showing up at hospitals with coronavirus-like illnesses have decreased from May 14 to May 21.
New cases dropped from 384 to 259.

The incidence rate is now 45.7, down from 67.8
The positivity rate went down from 3.7 percent to 2.7 percent.

Hospitalizations are at 37.7 Friday, down from 54.9 last week.
Ventilator use decreased significantly, with 2.9 average patients on ventilators compared to 8.1 the week prior.
As of Friday, Delaware County has 202,337 people who are fully vaccinated for the virus and 72,516 partially vaccinated residents.
To date, the county has had 48,131 positive cases of the virus and 1,441 coronavirus-related deaths.
