Child Guidance Resource Centers Forms A Diversity Council

Child Guidance Resource Centers is helping communities through their Diversity Council.

Child Guidance Resource Centers, a nonprofit organization that provides mental health services for children and families throughout Southeastern Pennsylvania, has launched a Diversity Council with the goal of creating a more inclusive, anti-racist, accessible, and collaborative community within behavioral healthcare and the greater Philadelphia area at large.

The Diversity Council was started during the summer of 2020 as a means to gain a deeper understanding regarding the issues of race relations and to build a stronger culture of inclusion for the organization, children, and families they serve, and greater communities at large. Over the last several months, the Council has created sub-committees in order to accomplish several goals that further the inclusion, equity, and understanding for all. One of the primary objectives is community outreach. We hope to bring community leaders, human services organizations, clergy, and law enforcement together for an exchange of ideas and best practices so that we can better help our clients feel more secure and supported in the neighborhoods they live in. “Child Guidance Resource Centers is committed to the communities that they serve and to working alongside them to improve all aspects of their lives,” said Dr. Andy Kind-Rubin, Chief Clinical Officer of Child Guidance Resource Centers.

Child Guidance Resource Centers was founded in 1956 and continues to help 9600 children and families annually who benefit from our 24 programs. Child Guidance Resource Centers has been providing services for those who struggle with autism, anxiety, ADHD, learning disabilities, depression, developmental disabilities, trauma, and truancy. The organization provides life-changing therapies and also teaches life skills for children and parents to succeed.
