Community Rallying Behind Paramedic Hurt In Delco Crash
Nicholas Scull, 39, suffered serious injuries after being involved in a crash in which he was entrapped in the ambulance this week.
DELAWARE COUNTY, PA — A crash involving an ambulance and school bus in Delaware County left a paramedic with serious injuries this week. And now, the community is rallying behind him.
Nicholas Scull, 39, of Chadds Ford, was rushed to Chester Crozer Medical Center for serious injuries following a crash that occurred at about 8:30 a.m. Wednesday in Chester, according to Pennsylvania State Police.
Police said he is in stable condition, but suffered a broken femur and moderate bruising and is expected to recover.

Now, the public is throwing their support behind Scull to help he and his family as he recovers from the crash.

"Nick is the main source of income for his wife and two young children," a GoFundMe page set up to help him and his family reads. "Since he has a long road to recover before getting back to work, he and his family need your help. The money raised will go toward helping with expenses including medical bills, monthly bills, daily expenses, and loss of income."
In about 13 hours, the GoFundMe page reached its goal, which has since been increased to $40,000.
As of Friday morning, $28,122 has been raised.
"Nick has a huge heart and puts his family and others first," the page reads. "Now it’s time for us to put Nick and his family first."
