Delco Ballot Drop Boxes Open Tuesday, Here's Where To Find Them

There are 32 spots where Delaware County voters can drop off their mail-in ballots ahead of the Nov. 3 general election. See locations here.

DELAWARE COUNTY, PA — Starting Tuesday, Delaware County voters who filled out mail-in ballots can drop them off at 36 locations around the county.

Unlike the requirement that in-person voters must vote at a specific polling place, Delaware County voters can use any ballot drop box in the county, in addition to the three ballot boxes located at the Voter Service Centers in Media, Upper Darby, and Chester.

Each ballot drop box is secured in place, locked and sealed. They are all and under 24-hour-a-day, seven-day-a-week video surveillance.

Voters may deposit only their own ballot in the drop boxes.

County election personnel will collect the ballots daily.

"The convenient drop boxes allow residents to vote without the need for in- person interaction or a reliance on mail carriers during COVID-19 pandemic," Delaware County officials said. "Voters can cast their vote with confidence while practicing social distancing outdoors."

The boxes were purchased with grant funds from the Center for Tech and Civic Life.

For the Nov. 3 general election, the last day to register to vote is Oct. 19. You may get an application to register at the Pennsylvania Voter Services website. The deadline to apply for a mail-in or civilian absentee ballot is Oct. 27. They must be received by your county election office by 5 p.m. that day.
