Delco Now Giving Pfizer Vaccine To Kids 12 And Over
Pfizer vaccine shots will be available Thursday and Friday at Springfield Hospital, then more dates and locations will be announced later.
DELAWARE COUNTY, PA — Kids 12 and older can now get the Pfizer coronavirus vaccine in Delaware County, officials said Thursday.
The announcement comes on the heel's of the CDC’s Advisory Committee on Immunization Practice recommendation of the Pfizer COVID-19 vaccine for those ages 12 to 15.
Delaware County is now offering the Pfizer vaccine at select walk-in and drive-thru clinic locations starting Thursday.

The Pfizer vaccine will be available without the need for an appointment to everyone 12 and older at Springfield Hospital, 190 Sproul Road in Springfield, on Thursday from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. and on Friday from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.

While appointments aren't needed, those looking to be vaccinated are encouraged to make appointments to allow for a more efficient process and a shorter wait time.
Parents or guardians must provide consent for 12 to 15-year-olds who are receiving the Pfizer vaccine from the Delaware County government and must plan to be present during the vaccination.
"The COVID-19 vaccine continues to prove itself as the greatest weapon that we have in fighting this virus, so we welcome the news that the FDA has expanded the emergency use authorization of the Pfizer vaccine to include those age 12 to 15," said Jeanne Franklin, Director of the Chester County Health Department.
In addition to the county's Pfizer vaccine locations, officials expect the Pfizer vaccine to soon be
available for 12- to 15-year-old kids at local pharmacies and pediatrician offices throughout Delaware County.
Vaccines are free and no identification or insurance is needed.
In addition to the Pfizer vaccine, Delaware County continues to administer the Johnson & Johnson and Moderna vaccines, both available for anyone ages 18 and over.
