Delco School Employee Could Be Fired Over 'Derogatory' Post
Upper Darby School District's superintendent said an employee's "derogatory and inflammatory" social media post could lead to termination.
UPPER DARBY, PA — An employee at a Delaware County school district could end up being terminated over a social media post that officials said was "derogatory and inflammatory."
Upper Darby School District Superintendent Dr. Daniel McGarry said one of the district's employees who was not named is being recommended for termination following a social media post that McGarry said "referenced content about the race of individuals, their actions, and that certain individuals deserved to die, referring to them using derogatory language."
The post was made in reference to the death of George Floyd, who died after Minneapolis Police Officer Derek Chauvin knelt on his neck for about nine minutes, and ensuing protests.
