Dog Missing For More Than A Month Found On Main Line

Eddie went missing near the Philly Art Museum on Oct. 27 when he was spooked by fireworks and ran away from his family.

BALA CYNWYD, PA — A dog who got away from his family way back in late October has been reunited with his owners after he was found on the Main Line, miles from where he disappeared.

Eddie, a Chow-Beagle mix dog, got away from his owners Julie and Rick Butler of Lansdale when he was spooked by fireworks on Oct. 27 during the Light the Night Walk for Leukemia near the Philadelphia Art Museum.

Eddie somehow slipped out of his collar and took off.

Posters were placed all over the art museum and Fairmount neighborhoods in hopes of finding the missing pup. Even a Facebook page to find Eddie cropped up.

Luckily, more than one month later, Eddie was found in the backyard of a Bala Cynwyd home, about seven miles from the Art Museum.

Rick Butler picked Eddie up from Narberth Animal on Tuesday, Dec. 4.

According to Julie Butler's Facebook post, Eddie lost 14 pounds during his time missing, but said he is safe at home sleeping on his favorite bed.

The Butler family truly experienced a holiday miracle.
