DELAWARE COUNTY, PA — The Philadelphia area has been a hotbed for film and TV projects in the past few years.

Adam Sandler, Jason Segel, Andre Benjamin (AKA Andre 3000), Sally Field, Zachary Levi, and more big names have been spotted in the city recently as they filmed TV and movie projects. Another big name filming in the region is Kate Winslet, who stars in HBO's series "Mare of Easttown."

The series centers around a small-town Pennsylvania detective named Mare Sheehan, played by Winslet, whose life crumbles around her as she investigates a local murder.

Winslet, being the professional she is, sought to perfect the Philadelphia region's signature accent. And doing so proved to be rather difficult.

In an interview with Indie Wire, Winslet said nailing the region's accent was one of the most challenging accents she's done.

"It was up there with the hardest accents I’ve ever done, in the top three for sure," she told the outlet. "It’s one of only two dialects in my life that made me throw things — that and the dialogue that they made me do in the movie about Steve Jobs."

"Mare of Easttown" screenwriter Brad Ingelsby knows just how difficult the accent can be to perfect as he is a Berwyn native.

Ingelsby told Indie Wire he thought Winslet nailed the accent.

The show has filmed all around the area, mostly in Chester and Delaware counties.

Filming locations included a vacant Kmart in Coatesville, Don's Deli in Boothwyn, Wissahickon Valley Park in Philadelphia, Phoenixville, and of course Easttown.

Being deep into the Philadelphia suburbs had an apparent impact on Winslet, with Wawa becoming essential.

There is no word on when the series will air.
