HAVERTOWN, PA — This Saturday, August 22nd from 12 PM to 2 PM, former Phillies shortstop Steve Jeltz will make his Carl's Cards and Collectibles autograph signing debut. Autographs are $8 for baseball cards and $15 for all other items.

Jeltz played professional baseball from 1983 to 1990. In all but one of those seasons he wore a Phillies uniform. A shortstop for much of his career, Jeltz appeared in 88 games for the Phillies, and had a career high 36 RBIs for the club in 1986.

A switch-hitter, Jeltz is remembered by many fans for being the first Phillies player to hit a home run from both sides of the plate in a single game against the Pirates on June 8, 1989. Jeltz retired from the game in 1990 after one season with the Kansas City Royals.
