'Good Morning America' Comes To Delco For Hot Car Segment
Good Morning America reported Gio Benitez was in Delaware County Friday to show just how dangerous the inside of a car can be on hot days.
HAVERTOWN, PA — Delaware County was in the national spotlight Friday during a segment on ABC's "Good Morning America."
Reporter Gio Benitez stopped by Havertown to meet with Narberth Ambulance crews to shed light on the dangers of hot vehicle interiors during as the Philly region experiences intense, oppressive heat.
Benitez did a live segment during which he spent some time himself in a vehicle with Narberth Ambulance paramedic Joe Yochim to see how the heat affects humans,6ABC reports.

He spent 45 minutes in the vehicle, doors closed and windows up.
Human body temperatures sit at 98.3 degrees, but after the 45 minutes Benitez's temperature rose to a dangerous 101 degrees.

He and Yochim emerged drenched in sweat.
He then highlighted a unique device developed by a pair of dads in Florida that is placed under car seats and alerts parents when a child has been left in a vehicle when one of the vehicle's doors is opened.
