Happy Mother’s Day From Ashley Pyne

"As I get older, I notice more and more how many aspects of my personality are directly derived from you."

In celebration of Mother's Day on Sunday May 13, we asked Patch readers to write a letter to their mother and let us deliver it. This is Ashley Pyne's letter to her mom:

Dear Mom,

Happy Mother’s Day!

I’m sipping coffee on a Sunday morning, reading the newspaper and listening to music with the window open. As I get older, I notice more and more how many aspects of my personality are directly derived from you — especially the activities that give me the most joy. You’ve taught me the magic of a good book, the importance of quiet moments and, most importantly, the beauty of the outdoors.

Whether you’re telling me about the newspaper clippings of a friend’s child that you sent them or the gifts you and Daddy got for the neighbors’ kids, you push me to be kinder and more considerate of others every time we talk. I am so grateful that I am your daughter. Thank you.

Love always,
Ashley
