About $95 million in CARES Act funding is being allocated to institutions of higher learning in the Philadelphia area.
HAVERFORD, PA — Billions in relief funding is being allocated by the federal government through the CARES Act, with a chunk of that funding going Haverford College.
A total of about $95 million in CARES Act money will be allocated to colleges and universities in the Philadelphia region.
Haverford College is getting $873,803 in funding. Of that figure, $436,902 will be earmarked for emergency financial aid and grants for students.

The university will be able to determine how to spend the remaining funds.
Funds allocated were based on factors such as enrollment, the number of students who are eligible for the federal Pell grants, and more.

Nearby, St. Joseph's University got $2.8 million; Villanova University got $4.3 million; and Bryn Mawr College $1.02 million.
Temple University got the most in funding, as it was allocated $27.8 million.
