Haverford Grad Drew Lewis, 84, Former U.S. Secretary Of Transportation
The local man served as Transportation Secretary during the Reagan administration and led the air traffic controller's strike.

Andrew “Drew” L. Lewis, Jr., 84, former Secretary of Transportation, died Feb. 10, 2016 in a Prescott, Arizona nursing home.
Lewis grew up in Norristown. According to the Washington Post, he worked for Henkels and McCoy, a construction company in Blue Bell, Pa., and later started a business consulting group in Plymouth Meeting in the 1970s.

He was a graduate of Haverford College and Harvard University.

Husband of Marilyn (Stoughton) Lewis; father of Karen Carrier, Russell S. Lewis, and Andrew L. Lewis, IV ; 14 grandchildren; and 7 great grandchildren.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend his memorial service at 11AM on Saturday, February 27, 2016 at the Central Schwenkfelder Church, 2111 Valley Forge Rd. Lansdale, PA 19446.
Friends may greet the family on Friday, from 6-8PM at the church and again on Saturday, from 9:30-10:45AM. The family will also be greeting friends following the service in fellowship hall. Online condolences may be made to the family at www.rlwilliamsfuneralhome.com.
