Main Line Teen Continues Altruistic Cupcake Classes
Haverford's Ella Markland hasn't stopped using her cupcake decorating lessons to support area families in need, raising about $2,000 so far.

HAVERFORD TOWNSHIP, PA — A local teenager is continuing her project to teach youngsters how to decorate cupcakes with an altruistic mission.
Ella Markland, 13, of Haverford Township, in August began teaching cupcake decorating classes to elementary-age kids in her area.
Patch featured Markland as part of our Local Heroes series several months ago.

Since then, the industrious teen has not given up.
Back in October, she hosted two Halloween-themed cupcake classes. In total, She raised $600 which was used to help Havertown's TLC Food Pantry provide turkeys to families in the area.

Then on Dec. 12, Markland hosted a holiday cupcake class.

With 50 elementary-age students participating, Markland raised $1,000 in donations.
During October, Ella hosted two Halloween cupcake classes and raised $600. This money helped the Food Pantry provide turkeys to many families.
Overall, Ella has raised $2,000 for the TLC Food Pantry.
And she's not done using her decorating classes for good.
Markland is gearing up for a sports-themed class that will be held over Super Bowl weekend.
She is also working on designing a website and merchandise for Ella's Cupcake Corner.
