More Coronavirus Vaccine Providers Announced In Delaware County

Six more locations in Delco are offering coronavirus vaccine appointments, but vaccine supplies are still limited in the county.

DELAWARE COUNTY, PA — Half a dozen more coronavirus vaccination sites have been announced in Delaware County.

Officials said six new proviate sites are offering coronavirus vaccines for those who meet current requirements under Phase 1A of the vaccine rollout.

The county's website and Call Center is only registering for the county-operated sites in Aston and Yeadon. Residents need to call or go online through the designated site/phone line to register for vaccine appointments at private run sites.

All vaccine sites are by appointment only. Vaccine availability remains extremely limited and the number of doses received varies from week to week.

As of Wednesday, 33,077 people have received partial vaccinations and 11,478 people have received full vaccinations in Delaware County, according to the Pennsylvania Department of Health.

Delaware County is encouraging people in Phase 1A to look to other vaccine providers in addition to the county, as Delaware County is just one of several providers being sent vaccine supply from the state. There are limited appointments right now due to the extremely limited vaccine supply nationwide. Some providers are scheduling into the spring and summer.

Vaccines are free of charge and for people age 16 and older. Residents can register to get a vaccine online here. The county will contact those who sign up using that link once the vaccine is available and will be sent a link to book an appointment.

Those 65 and older, as well as people 16 to 64 with certain medical conditions are eligible for the vaccination under Phase 1A.

People who preregister to receive a vaccine from Delaware County Government will be provided updates. As appointments open for the COVID-19 vaccine, they will be notified to book an appointment, with a personalized link for booking. An appointment for the second dose vaccine will be scheduled at the
