NBA Impersonator Takes On Havertown Ref Joey Crawford
Brandon Armstrong posted a video mocking Crawford on his YouTube channel
Brandon Armstrong, a social media celebrity known for posting his uncanny impressions of various NBA players to YouTube, has taken on a new imitation: Longtime NBA referee and Havertown native Joey Crawford.
In the minute-long video, posted Monday, Armstrong (known by his Twitter handle @BdotAdot5), plays the referee as two friends play basketball, imitating Crawford’s distinctive, technical foul-happy style of refereeing.
The video had garnered over 136,000 views on YouTube in the first 24 hours.

The 63-year-old Crawford has been an NBA referee since 1977, and has worked more playoff and NBA Finals games than any other ref in NBA history. The Cardinal O’Hara graduate was born in Philadelphia, grew up in Havertown and now lives in Newtown Square.
