Oakmont Fire Company Assistant Chief Dies After Coronavirus Fight

The Oakmont Fire Company Monday announced Assistant Chief Nicholas Sava passed away recently after a battle with the coronavirus.

HAVERFORD TOWNSHIP, PA — A longtime member of the Oakmont Fire Company has died, the fire company announced Monday.

According to the fire company, Assistant Chief Nicholas Sava passed away recently.

The fire company Saturday said Sava, a life member of the fire company, had been battling coronavirus for two weeks.

Sava was a member of the fire company's board of directors in addition to his role as assistant chief.

"Nick will be sorely missed by all of us at Oakmont," the fire company said on social media. "Rest Easy Nick, we will never forget you, or your dedicated volunteer service to the residents Haverford Township."
