Several Hundred Coronavirus Vaccines Given In Delco Sunday

The county and its partners ran a large clinic at Upper Darby High School Sunday where several hundred people got vaccinated in nine hours.

DREXEL HILL, PA — Several hundred people got coronavirus vaccines in Delaware County Sunday.

The county ran a mass vaccination clinic at Upper Darby High School Sunday.

Over nine hours Sunday, 1,260 first doses of the Moderna vaccine were administered to Upper Darby residents.

All 1,260 people were considered high-risk under Phase 1A and came from under-served communities, who had preregistered with the county.

The clinic was staffed by more than 150 Delaware County staff and volunteers from the Citizen Corps of Delaware County, COSA, and Upper Darby School District contributed to the effort, which to-date has been the County’s largest one-day coronavirus vaccination effort.

As a reminder, residents can call the Delaware County COVID-19 Call Center if they have COVID-19 related questions including information on vaccines and testing. The COVID-19 Call Center is open Monday through Friday, between the hours of 8:30 a.m. and 4:30 p.m. In addition to responding to phone calls, the Center will also respond to emails.

As of Monday, 45,564 people have been partially vaccinated and 50,907 have been fully vaccinated according to the Pennsylvania Department of Health.
