Vermont Man Wanted For Sex Assault, Kidnapping Caught In Delco
The man is accused of woman and child at random in New Hampshire and then taking her to a hotel in Vermont to sexually assault her.

UPPER DARBY, PA – A Vermont man wanted for sexual assault and kidnapping was caught in Delaware County after a police chase and crash Sunday, according to authorities.
Upper Darby Police arrested Everett Simpson, 41, of Vermont, who was in Vermont in connection with a kidnapping and sexual assault.
The man was caught after being on the run after police in New Hampshire said Simpson on Saturday targeted a woman and child at random, stuffed them in his stolen vehicle and drove to White River Junction, Vermont, where he sexually assaulted the woman at a hotel.

Simpson left the hotel and the woman and child were able to call for help, police said. Simpson was later tracked to Upper Darby, Pennsylvania and arrested.
Police said Simpson escaped from a substance-abuse rehabilitation facility last week, stole a Kia Forte sedan and drove to New Hampshire to kidnap the woman and child.

Simpson has had previous interactions with the police, including a September vehicle theft, high-speed pursuit and aggravated assault on a Vermont State Police trooper in Lyndonville.
Simpson was charged with kidnapping and sexual assault.
