Watch: Police In Delaware County Rescue Children From Locked SUV

Upper Darby police rescued two young children from a locked SUV in Delaware County Monday, with a nearby cell phone camera capturing the dramatic events, according to reports.

6ABC has reported that just before 11 a.m. Monday, with temperatures both inside and outside the vehicle surging, the mother momentarily left the car. Then, one of her children locked the doors with the keys still inside.

The mother reportedly called 9-1-1 immediately. Once on the scene, Upper Darby police reportedly broke a hole in the window, allowing them to reach inside and unlock the door.

As the mother rushed in to retrieve her baby, an officer grabbed the second child. Both were taken to an air conditioned car, according to reports.
