110 Residents Displaced By Fire At Huntingdon Valley Nursing Home
A fire at a Montgomery County nursing home displaced 110 residents late Wednesday night.
HUNTINGDON VALLEY, PA — A total of 110 residents were at least temporarily displaced from a long term care facility in Huntingdon Valley after a fire on Wednesday night, authorities said. No residents were injured, and one employee was treated for minor injuries on the scene.
The incident occurred at about 9:15 p.m. at ManorCare Health Services, located on the 3400 block of Huntingdon Valley Pike.
The building was swiftly evacuated as residents gathered outside.

The fire began when an air conditioning unit on the lower floor of the building malfunctioned, according to the Huntingdon Valley Fire Company. Smoke swiftly moved through the building.

First responders were able to quickly extinguish the fire before working to fumigate the smoke.
Around half of the 110 displaced residents have been returned to the facility, while the other half have been taken to other Manor Care facilities in Oxford Valley and Montgomeryville.
The Huntingdon Valley Fire Company was assisted by crews from several surrounding municipalities, including Bryn Mawr EMS, Second Alarmers, Tri-Hampton, Horsham, Narberth, Lansdale, Lafayette, Cheltenham, Whitemarsh, and Harleysville.
