HUNTINGDON VALLEY, PA — Exercise enthusiasts and nature lovers alike still have time to sign up to participate in the Pennypack Ecological Restoration Trust’s 50th Anniversary Trail Run/Walk, slated to take place next Wednesday July 14 at the picturesque nature preserve in Huntingdon Valley.
The event, which had been postponed last year due to the pandemic, serves as a celebration of 50 years of open space at the trust, which serves as a private land steward of the Pennypack Preserve natural area, which sits in between Lower Moreland Township, Upper Moreland Township and Bryn Athyn Borough.

According to its website, the trust is a “privately owned nature preserve with eleven miles of woodland, meadow, and creekside trails for hikers of all levels.” The trust says its trails are a favorite among bird watchers, photographers, tree and flower identification enthusiasts and solitude seekers.
The trust’s trails are open all throughout the week between 8 a.m. and dusk. Most trails are for walking/hiking only, but three are open to bicyclists and dogs: Creek Road Trail, Pennypack Creek Trail and Pennypack Parkway.
