Couple Found Dead, Killed By Chainsaw in Lower Moreland

Investigators are ruling the wife's death a homicide, but refusing to comment about the husband's death.

A Lower Moreland couple were found dead in their home Tuesday afternoon, both with cuts from a chainsaw.

6ABC Philadelphia is reporting that the couple’s juvenile son found Chris Peppelman, 48, and Nicole Peppelman, 43, in their residence on the 1100 block of Country Lane, a street lined with only a few homes.

The son reported the apparent homicide to police at approximately 12:50 p.m. this afternoon. The police arrived and found the bodies mutilated by a chainsaw.

A chainsaw was recovered at the residence, according to police.

The Montgomery County District Attorney’s Office says they are investigating the wife’s death as a homicide. However, neither the District Attorney’s Office nor police are commenting about the nature of the husband’s death.

An autopsy is scheduled for Wednesday at the Montgomery County coroner’s office.
