Daryl Boling is running for State House and he's a great guy

Daryl Boling

Dear Editor,

I have spent the last few months volunteering like never before for Daryl Boling. He gives me hope in the general morass of politics that a candidate can be honest, committed to ideals greater than himself and be willing to fight for the best interests of his constituents. He stands for most of the same things I believe in such as equal rights for woman, better functioning government and transparency in government. That’s all very important but equally important is that I now know him to be honest, generous and strongly committed to providing the best constituent services possible. I’m planning on keeping track of him and his office after the election and if I think there’s a problem with constituent services, I’ll be kicking butt and taking names.

Daryl Boling is a genuinely good man with a lovely wife and three adorable children. He loves our area and wants what’s best for it. The thing that stands him apart from others is that he’s a fighter! He took the skills he learned on the football field and is using them to make our town, our district and our state a better place to live. He won’t just sit back and accept the status quo.

One day, while canvassing, we knocked on a door and the couple who came to speak with us were anti-Democrat because they thought we were “going to take all their guns away”. After a short conversation with Daryl it turned out that their position and his were really not so different. In fact, there was much common ground and they would vote for him. Harrisburg’s reluctance to put forward common sense gun legislation angers most of us. Daryl Boling is willing to fight for it, willing to talk about it and all other issues in order to reach a consensus and move our state forward to make it a safer place to live.

Daryl intends to create a new status quo by harnessing his energy and building relationships across the aisle. I have seen him have conversations with all sorts of folks while canvassing and he has always found a way to listen, comment and discuss their point of view. I have yet to see Daryl leave a house without finding some cause for agreement. This is truly extraordinary in our convoluted, divided country.
