Lachlan Pitcairn, died on Wednesday, Sept. 11 at the age of 91 at his home in Bryn Athyn. When he settled in Bryn Athyn, "he founded institutions of his Swedenborgian religion: the Bryn Athyn Cathedral and Academy of the New Church," according to an obituary published on Philly.com.
He is survived by a son, three daughters, 21 grandchildren, and 19 great-grandchildren. He is predeceased by his wife, Betty Jean Horigan, and three daughters.
