Lower Moreland Ranked Among Best High Schools In PA: U.S. News

Once again, Lower Moreland High School has been ranked among the state's best. Here's how it stacked up:

LOWER MORELAND, PA — Once again, Lower Moreland High School placed among the top schools in Pennsylvania, according to a new ranking from U.S. News and World Report.

The school ranked 23rd overall in the state in the latest ranking, which compares more than 17,800 public high schools nationwide.

Lower Moreland placed third in Montgomery County, trailing only Lower Merion, which was 10th in the state, and Wissahickon.

Nearby, other high ranking Montgomery County schools included Wissahickon placed 13th, Spring-Ford 31st, Upper Dublin 38th, and Plymouth-Whitemarsh 46th.

The top 600 included 15 schools from across Pennsylvania. Just two cracked the top 50. The top-ranked Pennsylvania school was Philadelphia's Julia Masterman Academy, coming in at 18th overall. It was followed by Downingtown STEM at 34th; these were the only schools that cracked the top 200 nationwide.

The methodology used for this year's ranking focused on six factors: college readiness, reading and math proficiency, reading and math performance, underserved student performance, college curriculum breadth and graduation rates.
