Reopening Of Byberry Road Delayed After Gas Main Damaged
Byberry Road was on the brink of reopening before a gas main was damaged, officials said.

LOWER MORELAND, PA — Byberry Road was on the brink of reopening before a gas main was damaged Monday night, officials said.
A stretch of Byberry has been shut down since construction on the road began on April 1, as crews repair the old stone bridge near Masons Mill Business Park.
Officials were hopeful that Tuesday, Aug. 6 would mark the official reopening, but an accident involving a subcontractor damaged the main, delaying completion of the project.

It's not yet clear exactly when the road will reopen. Officials with Lower Moreland Township said that PennDOT would notify them when they had an estimate.
Byberry will remain closed between Pioneer Road and Reading Way in the meantime, and motorists will continue to be detoured to Huntingdon Pike, County Line Road, and Davisville Road.
