Shots Fired, Subway Robbed In Montgomery County

It's unclear if the two separate incidents, which occurred near each other, are related.

POTTSTOWN, PA -- There were reports of shots fired in Pottstown late Thursday night, just an hour before an armed robbery at a nearby Subway restaurant.

Shots were heard at about 10 p.m. near 70 North Charlotte Street, and police found ballistic evidence on the scene, the Pottstown Mercury reports.

Three men wearing hooded sweatshirts were seen leaving the area.

Less than an hour earlier, the Subway on 1432 E. High Street was robbed by a 6-foot tall white male with a green jacket, who displayed a knife and took money from the cash register, the report states.

The two addresses are about a mile and a half apart from one another.

No injuries were reported in either case.

It is unclear if the two incidents are connected.
