Lower Moreland School Is Safe, Students Sent Home Early: Police
Breaking: A school in Lower Moreland was evacuated on Tuesday morning after a threat was received, according to officials.

LOWER MORELAND, PA — A Lower Moreland school was evacuated Tuesday morning due to a credible threat, accoring to officials. The scene was investigated by police and determined to be safe, and students were sent home early.
The incident occurred at Murray Avenue School sometime before 9 a.m. Tuesday, March 12.
After receiving word of a "credible threat," students were evacuated from Murray Avenue to the high school, where they stayed in the auditorium.

Police shut down Murray Avenue as they investigated the scene for several hours. Once the scene was cleared, students retrieved their belongings and were sent home at 12:15 p.m.
The exact nature of the threat remains unclear.

Parents were asked not to come to the high school as the investigation continues, the district said in an email to parents.
No threats to other Lower Moreland buildings or the rest of the Lower Moreland community were made.
