A Tasty Oasis Opens in Wayne

From fresh, homemade chocolate to nuts the Oasis Juice Bar is so much more than a health food fan's snack shop.

Her story is a familiar one for foodies living in a corporate world.  Escape to your own small business and make the food you love.  And that's just what Tuffany Watts did after years with Kellogg's and Hershey's.

Now you can taste Tiffany's creations at the new Oasis Juice Bar in Wayne (next to Ella's American Bistro) in the "K-mart" Shopping Center at 224 Sugartown Road. Tiffany and Jonathon Watts opened their new store in early September after moving from the Oasis Juice Bar's home of many years on Lancaster Ave in Malvern.

And while the shop does, of course, have a broad selection of healthy juices and smoothies the owners want you to know their shop is much more than a "health food" place. Tiffany's edible creations line the shelves and the selection changes often. Everything is made fresh in the shop's enormous kitchen. Drinks and smoothies are made to order and all with only fresh ingredients.  A fresh smoothie is comparable in price to getting a fancy coffee drink for your morning or afternoon cup of refreshment.

"I love food, it's fun," Tiffany tells Patch.  I keep coming up with new stuff. Tiffany Watts is also an official chocolatier and you can taste the difference in the chocolates that are hand made right on the premises.  From dark chocolate bars made on site to milk chocolate-covered nuts, this shop is a chocolate-lovers dream destination.

If drinking and eating healthy is what you're looking for they've got you covered. In addition to all the shakes and snacks, they can also set you up with a two-day juice cleanse that "gives your body a break from solid food" without taking up too much time. Tiffany explains "it's something you can do over a weekend."

"I wanted a place where I could create all kinds of great stuff," Tiffany says of her decision to leave the safety of big commercial food companies to branch out and open her own shop.

"We cater to people looking for grab 'n go snacks that taste good.. we created a place where we get the food we'd like.  It's not a weird health food store," Tiffany explains.

"A good bit of this was about allowing Tiffany to have a place to create," says husband and co-owner Jonathan Watts.  He'll be the first to tell you he is in the business but his wife is the creative foodie behind the items that line the shelves. It's also a lot easier to get her creations to market than in a big corporation.  "I think of it over the weekend and by Monday it's on the shelf!"

The Oasis Juice Bar is open six days a week at 224 Sugartown Road, Wayne 19087.
