Municibid was established in 2006 and has grown steadily since, with 1,000 government agencies auctioning surplus through the efficient online system. The township is auctioning the surplus vehicles and other traffic machinery online because the website has an established nationwide reach growing every day. Auctions on Municibid result in competitive bidding and fair prices for government surplus items.

"It’s time to sell these surplus vehicles and other traffic related items," said Upper Merion Transportation Superintendent Gene Toth. "We’ve found agencies using Municibid for auctions can make back a lot more non-tax revenue than through traditional non-sealed bids. We’re looking forward to good results."

"Taxpayer demand and tightened budgets require government agencies to look for new ways of increasing non-tax revenue. Municibid is an easy way to achieve this and at no cost to the agency.” said Municibid Founder and CEO, Greg Berry. “Auction items will reach a much broader, national audience of competing bidders, leading to better net results.”

Upper Merion Township’s online auction of the vehicles and other items ends on May 13th. The 1995 Ford F350 Dump Body is already attracting great web traffic. With 120,098 miles, a Tow Hitch Hook Up, and a tool box, it will prove a great value to the winning bidder.
