LOWER PROVIDENCE, PA — Police in Lower Providence are working to find ways for individuals with various physical and mental conditions to communicate more clearly with officers.

The new "Project Return Safely" program allows residents to place decals in their windows to alert police officers of residents with mental handicaps and any other issues.

The decals can "help first responders make informed decisions on how to peacefully intervene to avoid actions that may trigger fear, anxiety, or even a violent response," police said.
