Library to Host ‘Money Smart Week’ Starting April 22

The Lower Providence Community Library will host a series of presentations that are designed to improve financial literacy.

Money Smart Week will return to the Lower Providence Community Library (LPCL), from April 22 – 26.

The week is part of a nationwide collaborative effort to promote financial literacy for all consumers of all demographics and income levels. According to the Money Smart Week website, the public awareness campaign was started by the Federal Reserve Bank of Chicago in 2002. It is a collaborated and coordinated effort from hundreds of organizations throughout the country, including financial institutions, schools, nonprofits, government agencies, the media and libraries.

“This is the second year I’ve organized a week of financial literacy programs,” Meg Mozi, LPCL Cataloger and Adult Programming coordinator, said in an e-mail. “It was well-received, and there were patrons who came to more than one session.”
