LPT Wins Governor's Award for Economic Revitalization
Lower Providence was awarded the 2013 Governor's Award for Local Government Excellence for its efforts to create and retain jobs in the Park Pointe business park.

Lower Providence Township was recently recognized by the state for its efforts in economic revitalization in the Park Pointe at Lower Providence business park with the 2013 Governor’s Award for Local Government Excellence. Lt. Gov. Jim Cawley presented the award to members of Lower Providence's Business Development Team in an April 15 ceremony in Harrisburg.
According to a release issued by the township, LPT was recognized in the "Promoting Community and Economic Revitalization" category for its efforts to bring business and jobs to the community by revitalizing the once-ailing Valley Forge Corporate Center, now known as Park Pointe at Lower Providence. The township credits investments in infrastructure improvements, zoning changes and its Redevelopment Master Plan as key components of the success of the new business park.Â
Renovation on the corporate park began in 2007, and since then, the township has retained its two largest employers (representing 1,500 jobs) and has attracted 22 new businesses, adding 825 additional jobs.
