Methacton Student Receives First Area 4 Democratic Committee Scholarship

Victoria Falcone, Methacton High School Student, was selected as the first award recipient.

The first Area 4 Democratic Committee Scholarship was awarded to Methacton High School Student Victoria Falcone on May 22. Kevin Dunbar, Area 4 Chair Montgomery County Democratic Committee and Yong Cho, candidate for Methacton School Board, presented the award.

In an e-mail, Dunbar explained taht the Guidance and History departments helped pick the award winner and emphasized that political affiliation is not considered. He also described the traits that helped Victoria receive the award.

"Our award winner is Victoria Falcone, she will attend the Manhattan School of Music in the fall as a voice major. At Methacton she held a high grade average, and has a sense of striving for self-improvement through further education.  Victoria is very empathetic to the situations of others," Dunbar said. "We are pleased that she is our first award winner."

Area 4 Municipalities:  Limerick, Upper Providence, Collegeville, Trappe, Lower Providence, Royersford, Skippack and Worcester.

In the following weeks, students from Perkiomen Valley and Spring Ford school districts will also recieve the award.
