New Drive-In Movie Theater Coming To Oaks Expo Center
Montgomery County has a new drive-in movie theater opening up this week.
OAKS, PA — As the coronavirus crisis continues, drive-in movie theatres are undergoing a nationwide renaissance.
A new drive-in movie theatre will open this week at the Greater Philadelphia Expo Center in Oaks.
The theatre is called a "Cinema Pop-Up" and it's being organized by the entertainment company Killburn Live.

The theatre is starting with a slate of films playing each night at 9 p.m. starting on Thursday, July 23. Here is the schedule for the coming days, with a schedule already released through Aug. 2:
- Thursday, July 23: Beetlejuice
- Friday, July 24: The Goonies
- Saturday, July 25: Blake Shelton (concert)
- Sunday, July 26: Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory
- Thursday, July 30: Shazam!
- Friday, July 31: Palm Springs
- Saturday, Aug. 1: The Wizard of Oz
- Sunday, Aug. 2: Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone
It's not the first in the county to offer the service, as the State Theatre of Boyertown teamed up with SunnyBrook Ballroom in Pottstown to air several classic films and TV.

Meanwhile, some local theaters have resumed regular operations with safety guidelines in place, like the nearby Water Tower Cinema in Montgomeryville.
