Rash of Bike, Scooter Thefts Reported in Lower Providence

Authorities are advising residents to lock up bikes when not in use and record any serial numbers.

The Lower Providence Police Department posted a notice to Facebook last week warning are residents that they have received several reports of bike and scooter thefts recently. Most of the reports have come from apartment complexes in the Lower Providence area, according to police.

The LPPD is advising residents to record serial numbers from all bicycles and scooters and ensure they are safely locked up when not in use. Parents who notice their children riding bicycles or scooters that do not belong to them can bring them to the Lower Providence Police Station at 100 Parklane Drive in Eagleville. The department will attempt to return all items to their owners.

Anyone with information about recent bicycle or scooter thefts, or who would like more information, should contact Lower Providence Police at 610-539-5901.
