Reminder: Lighting Ordinance Hearing Continues Tuesday Night in Worcester

A possible motion to adopt the ordinance is included on the agenda for Worcester's Tuesday night meeting.

The Worcester Board of Supervisors will meet Tuesday, April 2 at 7:30 p.m. at the Worcester Township Community Hall at 1031 Valley Forge Road in Fairview Village for a special meeting to continue the public hearing on the hotly-debated lighting ordinance that has some residents and area parents at odds.

The ordinance is designed to accomodate renovations being made at Methacton High School's athletic field that would include necessary field lighting. Some residents of Worcester oppose the renovations over concerns about "potential light spillage and noise from nighttime use."

Parents in favor of the ordinance have created an online petition as well as a Facebook page.
