Scene Around Town: Our Own 'Wild Kingdom'
YouTube user Brian Henderson has collected dozens of short, compelling nature videos, many of which where filmed locally.
Those of us old enough to have watched the original run of "Mutual of Omaha's Wild Kingdom" remember what it was like to see the most vibrant and intimate images of animals in their natural habitats from all over the world right in our living rooms. It was beautiful, it was exciting, and it was sometimes gruesome.Â
I though of "Wild Kingdom" recently when I stumbled upon YouTube user Brian Henderson's channel featuring short videos of animals being animals in their natural habitats. Many of the videos were filmed locally, including this one of a water snake catching a mid-day meal in East Norriton. Watching the fish struggle to break free with only the eerily peaceful sound of the water moving of the rocks is compelling, and a stark reminder of Mother Nature's true, well – nature.
Check out more of Henderson's videos here. If you've got your own nature videos you'd like to share with those of us interested, feel free to upload them here.
