Want to Burn 400 to 600 Calories in 30 Minutes of Lying Down?
One Lower Providence business says it can show you how.

It sounds too good to be true, right? But Rita Nicholl, partner of Craze for Rayz in Eagleville, says it can be done.Â
Her business offers a new "Spa Health Environment Capsule." So what does it do? According to her brochure, a 25-minute session can burn 400 to 600 calories, much like that of a two-hour workout.
"It uses infrared therapy," said Nicholl. "It burns the fat out of cells, and reduces cholesterol, too." Clients simply lie down in the space-age-looking device, which looks much like a high-tech sleeping bag.

Nicholl said many athletes use the technology, as they do not want to take pain medications. This drug-free method allows them to relax pained muscles, increase metabolism and detoxify blood cells, according to the business.
Nicholl, who has been in the Lower Providence store since October 2011, moved her business from Collegeville, in the Evansburg Shopping Center, where she'd started it in 2008.
