Ballot Questions

While the state appears to have voted convincingly to restrict the governor's powers in a public health emergency, Chester County's ballot vote differed.

On question one — should the General Assembly be able to restrict the governor's powers — Chesco voted no, contrary to the rest of the Commonwealth.

Question two, which proposed a related constitutional amendment that would limit the length of an emergency order issued by the governor, saw the Chester County vote no also.

County Judges

Chester County cast votes in two Magisterial District Judge races. Democrat Marc J. Lieberman and Republican Marc A. Bruno will be voters' choices on the fall 2021 ballot.

In Magisterial District 15-1-01, Lieberman led on the Democratic ballot with 44 percent of the vote, followed by Daniel Hollander with 37 percent of the Democratic vote and Marc A. Bruno with 18 percent on the blue ticket.

The Republican outcome in District 15-1-01 showed Bruno out front with 86 percent of the vote and Marc J. Lieberman with 13 percent of the Republican vote.

In Magisterial District 15-1-02, Mackenzie Smith received 82 percent of the Democratic vote and incumbent Thomas Tartaglio garnered 16 percent on the Dem ballot. Those numbers were nearly flipped on the Republican ballot, with Tartaglio receiving 84 percent of the Republican primary vote and Smith receiving 14 percent. Tartaglio seeks a third term, after being appointed in 2008 to the position by then-Gov. Ed Rendell.
