Angela R. Riccetti Running For Malvern Boro Council

Pennsylvania's Primary Election is May 18. Angela R. Riccetti is a candidate for Malvern Borough Council Person who offers problem-solving experience and strong interpersonal skills. There are three seats open and voters may vote for three borough council candidates.

Riccetti explained why she is running for election.

Age: 39

Position Sought: Malvern Borough Council Person

Party Affiliation: Democrat

Family: My wife, Laura, and I have been residents of the borough, along with our miniature dachshund, Lucy, for almost five years.

Does anyone in your family work in politics or government?: No

Education: I graduated from West Chester University with a dual major in Musical Theatre and History.

Occupation: I have been working in the food and beverage industry for close to 20 years. I currently work as a server and sommelier, and recently started my own small business.

Previous or Current Elected or Appointed Office: None.

Why are you seeking elective office?: I truly love living here in Malvern. I wish to be a part of our community's continued growth as an inclusive and diverse community. I have been active in community service and civic engagement and have recently been inspired to seek more opportunities for involvement.

The single most pressing issue facing our borough is: As the borough continues to see increasing development, we must find a balance between this economic growth and preserving our community’s charm and character.

What are the critical differences between you and the other candidates seeking this post?: I think, when decisions are being made by a council of several people, diversity is of the utmost importance. All of the candidates are highly qualified, but I believe my experiences from working in the service industry, as well as the adversity I have faced, would be an asset to Borough Council.

If you are a challenger, in what way has the current board or officeholder failed the borough?: Over the past year, I have had the pleasure of getting to know most of the current Borough Council members and I feel they are doing an outstanding job, and I would be humbled to have the opportunity to serve alongside them.

Describe the other issues that define your campaign platform: We are so fortunate to live in a community with so many parks and green areas for us all to enjoy. I think it is very important to ensure we are preserving these outdoor spaces for future generations. Now, more than ever, it is extremely important to support our neighborhood small businesses whenever possible.

What else would you like voters to know about yourself and your positions?: Working in the service industry, I have faced times of unpredictability, both in managing staff and offering customer service. Through these experiences, I have developed strong interpersonal and problem-solving skills. I am levelheaded, fair, and compassionate, and am committed to serving the borough.
